WordPress-ing Matters

Hello and happy start-of-term!

I’m happy to be back on WordPress again, especially since the interface is a lot more friendly than it was on my last visit.

That was back in 2020: I did some contracting with the Garth Homer Society during the peak pandemic months. They wanted to spin up LifeStreams, a new website to help their clients (adults with neurodevelopmental disorders) access learning and social spaces while their regular in-person programs were on hold. At the time I was working in mental health care, and that was one of my first experiences with a tech-focused job.

I was responsible for writing content, creating new pages, improving accessibility, hosting online social groups, making a simple web app… It was an amazing experience, and it convinced me to come back to school and take Computer Science. In that sense, I have WordPress to thank for my new career path.

I’m quite excited to pick up new skills related to online learning, as well as formalizing and refreshing the skills I had back then. This is shaping up to be a great term, and I think EDCI-338 is going to be a big part of that.

If you want to read more intro stuff, you can head over to my About Me page.

Have a great week!
